About Cameron Steiman
Cameron Steiman has an MFA in creative writing, extensive coursework in computer science, and a combined MS degree in College Student Personnel Administration and Counseling. She spent twenty years working in the software industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a former board member of The Writers’ Center of Indiana. Cameron has ten years of teaching experience in corporate, university, and community settings.
Her published work includes both non-fiction and fiction. Her writing is as eclectic as her academic background, writing cooking columns and creating mainstream fiction as well as speculative fiction.
Cameron was bit by the travel bug as a teenager and has been to 27 countries. Her love for travel has led to a passion for photography, wine, and cooking.
She seasons her fiction with her counseling experience, high tech background, and life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As a child, she had a huge rock in her front yard that she imagined was a ship transporting her to different lands. When her mother sold their family house, Cameron paid a landscaper to transport the 1500 lb rock to her own home. She now sits on her rock, notebook in hand, dreaming up far away lands and eccentric characters to use in her stories.
Cameron lives with her husband and two sons and the deer that periodically wander through her backyard.
